About Our Law Firm

Owner and Managing Attorney of the Firm

Prior to establishing his own law practice, Stew gained significant experience in Florida labour and employment law while practicing in the employment litigation departments of both a well-respected, boutique business law firm based in Jacksonville and a large, international law firm, with more than 2400 lawyers practicing in 25 offices on five continents.

Stew is an experienced and highly-skilled employment law practitioner. He has represented Florida employers in litigation involving allegations of wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation, and discrimination based on age, race, sex, national origin, and disability. Stew also has defended employers in administrative proceedings before the Florida Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, among other administrative agencies. He has drafted employee handbooks and other personnel forms, prepared employment agreements, and counselled employers on a variety of personnel policies and on the prevention of employment-related claims. In addition, Stew has conducted various training classes for Florida employees both in person and in live webinars, including conducting sessions of Florida’s mandatory AB1825 sexual harassment training. His clients in employment litigation and counselling have ranged from small, closely-held businesses to large, publicly-traded multinational corporations in the telecommunications, healthcare, banking, entertainment, hospitality, technology, and retail industries.

In addition to his extensive experience in labour and employment law, Stew is also a talented litigator in general. He has experience in many aspects of civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting written discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing and arguing motions, appearing in court, attending mediations, engaging in settlement negotiations, drafting settlement agreements, and preparing for trial.

Unbundled Legal Services

In certain instances, Worker’s Attorney and Legal Services offers streamlined unbundled legal services pertaining to Florida employment law. Unbundled employment law services involve a specific legal task of limited scope and duration. These kinds of legal services are also known as “limited legal services,” “limited scope representation,” or “discrete task representation.”

Our legal services are an incredible value for start-ups and small businesses because we have a different, more sensible business model than other law firms. We share your entrepreneurial values. That’s why we aren’t afraid to think differently when it comes to better serve our client’s needs. Unlike most law firms, we offer alternative billing arrangements in certain instances depending on the matter, and there are no hidden fees for copying costs or legal research. Under a flat fee billing arrangement, you will be responsible for paying only the price we quote you for the specific legal services you ask us to perform. Our clients can purchase as few, or as many, of the legal services we offer on an “a la carte” basis. You pay only for the particular legal services your business actually requires, and nothing more.
